Frequently asked questions
What counts as an 'active' member?
A member is active if they've done anything in the last 90 days - RSVPed to an event, signed up for a task, offered a lift, or uploaded a photo. Inactive members don't count towards your limit.
Can I try paid plans before committing?
Yes! Contact us to discuss a trial period that works for your organisation. No commitment required.
What happens if we go over the limit?
We show a friendly warning to admins but won't block anyone from joining. For genuine community groups that grow beyond 100, we'll reach out to help find the right plan.
Can I switch plans later?
Absolutely. Upgrade or downgrade anytime. If you downgrade, you'll keep access until your billing period ends.
Is Grewp really free for community groups?
Yes, 100%. We believe community organising should be accessible to everyone. Most local groups never need more than 100 active members. We fund Grewp through Club, Mobilise, and Federation plans.
Do you offer discounts for nonprofits?
Yes! Verified nonprofits get 50% off any paid plan. Contact us at hello@grewp.org with your charity registration number.
How do payments work?
Paid plans can accept payments via Stripe for membership subscriptions, event tickets, and fundraising. Prices are in euros, but your members can pay in their local currency at competitive exchange rates through Stripe. We charge a 2% platform fee on recurring subscriptions. Event tickets and fundraising have 0% platform fee - you only pay Stripe's processing fees. Free Community groups cannot take payments.
How does the funder partnership work?
Councils, foundations, and funders can partner with Grewp to support community groups in their area. Groups stay completely free - the funder covers the platform cost. In return, funders get visibility into real community impact (with group consent). It's a win-win: groups get free tools, funders see measurable outcomes.
